Pacific and New Zealand art
Daniella Hulme is a self-taught full-time established NZ artist.
She has been exhibiting since 1998 in NZ, Rarotonga, USA and the 2013 Beijing Art fair.
Her work is inspired by and is a combination of her own Dutch heritage and her husband's Samoan culture.
She is known for her large, vibrant, delineated, stylized oil paintings of Pacific Island women.
Over the years Daniella has also created large series/bodies of work with themes of Pacific navigation, flora and fauna, bi-culturalism, urbanisation of Pacific culture in NZ and the idyllic settings of the Pacific.
Her work is collected by many Corporates and Diplomates, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, NZ Embassy in Den Hague, NZ ambassador to the US Rt HON Mike Moore and Governor-General Anand Satyanand who commissioned Daniella to create a large triptych to be given as a gift from NZ to the Tokelau Islands in 2007.
She also designed the Xmas cards for Government House in 2008 and 2009.
She has been a finalist in many art awards in NZ and won 3 International Art
Awards for her figurative work.
January 2011 she won 'Excellence in the arts' in the Palm Art Awards, Leipzig, Germany.
September 2011 she was a finalist in the Emerging artists discovery prize, hosted by Showartists, Santa Fe.
October 2011 she was a Silver award winner in the 'Art Curated Prize September Classic' hosted by Showartists,,Santa Fe.
