A fusion of Art practice and Engineering process is the platform from which Stuart investigates the world around him, utilising art practice as a tool for discovery and engineering processes to facilitate the creating.Stuart has a strong interest in life cycles, the experience of ‘being’ and pondering on spiritual and physical connections (and disconnections) to, and in the environment. Reflecting in notions of the ‘human condition’ Stuart investigates and uses these ideas to create breathtaking works.
Stuarts works are personal reflections through which he endeavours to communicate to others.
Stuarts intent is not to make statements, but to express thoughts and ideas in order to connect with the viewers’ senses, wonderment or intellect. Stuart has developed a structured thoughtful approach, but also allows creative flow and intuition to lead the way. Exploration, invention, chance and reflection are important elements of Stuarts creative process.
Stuart is interested in psychology, philosophy, spirituality, nature and culture, and how art has been used to express, and explore these ideas for thousands of years. Stuart considers the vocation of ‘Art’ as a mechanism for communicating thoughts, ideas, emotions and experiences.
Stuart endeavours to give soul and energy to the works he creates that resonates with the viewer and connects with the landscape or environment in some way.
