Kōmuhumuhu Tawhito / Ancient Whispers an Exhibition by Elizabeth Morrison
We are thrilled to present Kōmuhumuhu Tawhito (Ancient Whispers), a new exhibition by artist Elizabeth Morrison (Kai Tahu). Drawing from her deep ancestral ties to Waihōpai (Invercargill) and Motupōhue (Bluff), Elizabeth’s oil paintings tell traditional pūrakau (stories) from the deep south. Her work reflects over 30 years of experience, as well as her connection to whenua (land) and tīpuna (ancestors).
Elizabeth’s practice extends beyond painting, with a continued journey in rāranga (weaving) at her marae in Bluff. Her art is held in collections across Aotearoa and internationally.
