“Colour your Life, Love your Art”
Having started out as a freelance Art Consultant, I’m passionate about building relationships with my collectors, sourcing works specifically for them, & keeping them informed on rare availability of Artworks.
My other passion is handpicking every single artwork that hangs on our walls, and keeping my eyes peeled for future talent. Over the last 10 years, I’ve seen the value of some of our Artists work, double and triple in price. This provides future on-selling opportunities, with the added investment of the daily enjoyment of having it on your wall.
Buying an artwork that you love is the start of a life long relationship, that continues to grow and nurture. I believe that Art does change your life, and makes your house a home. There is so much to be said about loving what you are surrounded by.
I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing our gallery give opportunity & accessibility to our visitors & Clients within New Zealand & abroad, to see the best that New Zealand Art has to offer.
‘ Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time ‘
I’m Frances Piacun and I am originally from the Far North of New Zealand.
I have been involved in Art and Design from a very young age and in the past 10 years have had Galleries in the Far North and Bay of Islands.
I relocated to the amazing location of Queenstown at the beginning of 2014 as an Art Consultant for Artbay Gallery where I am able to share my love of all things beautiful with the wide variety of international cultures represented here.
I believe a home is incomplete without the stamp of the owners handprint,
with their Art Choices imprinting the final touches in their home.
Growing up on a farm in Southland I have always appreciated our ever changing landscape and the diversity of our beautiful country. Little wonder I have been involved with art of some form all of my life, from owning and running my own ‘Home Styling’ business, and having a passion for photography, art and music.
Having previous experience as an art curator it is a real privilege to find myself working at Artbay Gallery surrounded by an amazing array of art from some of New Zealand’s top award winning artists.
Having original art in your home makes you complete. It shows a glimpse of your personality, who you are and what makes you happy. To help someone with this journey gives me great pleasure. It also gives me the opportunity to meet amazing people from not only New Zealand but all over the world. How lucky am I.
“Every child is an Artist. The problem is how to remain an Artist, once we grow up.”
My family whakapapa is from Stewart Island Rakiura, our Maori tribe, our iwi is Ngāi Tahu. I spent twenty-five years travelling the world, working in sales and marketing and representing award-winning, internationally renowned artists. Now back home in New Zealand, I enjoy working with exciting contemporary artists and art collectors at Artbay Gallery.
Spirituality enlightened wellness is important to me. I am passionate about the universe of romance, about horses, landscapes, mountains, rivers and the ocean. Whether it is words or paint, or the delicate creases in a freshly made bed… it’s all ART to me and ART entirely.
“Art is as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment.”
I was born in U.S., grew up Finland and after a fantastic sailing trip half way around the world, my path led me to this beautiful country I now call home. With a business background in making custom art and painting murals, I have a passion for helping you bring ‘vital nourishment’ into your living and work environment.
With the exposure to varying arts while traveling and living in 3 different cultures, I am honoured to be working at ArtBay Gallery being surrounded by all of this stunning art, still helping you to find perfect pieces which capture your heart and enlighten the memories of your time here in Queenstown.
"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance."
I come to Artbay from a background in libraries, dance and language teaching, Research and Development and hospitality. My informal art education started with living in some of the great European cities, attracted by the natural beauty we moved to Queenstown in 2014.
Working at Artbay is a wonderful opportunity to explore and promote award winning New Zealand art in all its diverse forms.

"All art is unstable. Its meaning is not necessarily that implied by the author. There is no authoritative voice. There are only multiple readings."
I have come to Artbay Gallery with a passion for design and a background in occupational therapy. My unique disposition to creative avenues embodies a broad perspective which views art as a transformative medium and design as an opportunity to enrich ones experience.
