Rachael Errington: Journey Through The Seasons

Rachael Errington: Journey Through The Seasons

Rachael Errington is an award-winning full-time artist and illustrator. She’s worked with Artbay Gallery for almost a decade, selling her serene woodland paintings to hotels and private collectors nationally and internationally.

Originally from Liverpool, UK, Rachael lived in Queenstown for nine years, taking inspiration from the stunning scenery and in particular the ever-changing trees which surround her favourite walking tracks. Rachael now works from her new studio in Taupo, on the North Island of New Zealand.

Rachael began her artistic career studying a Bachelor of Arts
in Illustration, and her final year work won the Sylvia Dowsett Memorial Award for printmaking. Her other accolades include the Runner Up Signature Art Award at the Wellington New Zealand Art Show, Best of Contemporary at the Location Art Awards and People’s Choice Award at the Arrowtown Autumn Festival.

Her timeless depictions of seasons and nature are created using oils and acrylics, using a special layering technique which she has developed over the last ten years. The results are distinctive, textural, and often described as ethereal and reflective of an ‘enchanted forest’.

Rachael has held exhibitions in England, Australia, America and France, hence her work is in collections worldwide.

“I create tree paintings that invite the viewer to step out of the depths of the forest and into the sunny glade,” says Rachael.
